Travelodge creates 20 jobs at new Cobalt Park hotel

A hotel operator says it has created 20 jobs after unveiling a new site in the region.

Travelodge has opened its doors at North Tyneside’s Cobalt Park.

The 80-room development, which also includes a restaurant, has been created following the conversion of redundant office space.

The hotel is managed by Colin Evans, who was previously manager at Travelodge’s Newcastle International Airport and Gateshead sites.

He said: “There has been a desperate need for good quality and low-cost accommodation within the area for some time, and this new hotel is ideally located for business and leisure travellers.”

Guy Marsden, director at Highbridge Properties, the developer behind Cobalt Park, added: “We are delighted Travelodge has joined the already strong range of amenities on the park.”
