Durham kept up their quarter-final aspirations with a convincing win against Warwickshire in the Royal London Cup tie at South Northumberland CC.
Mark Stoneman, Scott Borthwick and Paul Collingwood all made half centuries as Durham reached their target of 293 with 14 balls to spare.
The fixture that was held in Gosforth Newcastle boasted a crowd of around 2000, including a sold out hospitality area. The Corporate sponsors were well entertained with enjoyed some excellent cricket, food and drink, glorious sunshine and professional hosting from Sky Sports’ Pete Graves.
The fixture exemplified what bringing cricket back to its roots can do and perfectly marketed the game to an audience not as familiar with Durham’s progress.
