Over 275 North East professionals working in the land, property and construction sectors attended the annual RICS Matrics North East Ball on 19 May and helped raise over £1,900 for children’s charity, Smile for Life and Marie Curie which supports those with terminal illness.

RICS Matrics North East is a networking and support group for trainee surveyors and those with ten years or less experience in the industry. But, the popular event – held at Newcastle’s newest event venue the Boiler Shop, Stephenson Quarter – didn’t just attract surveyors. Property professionals of all ages, and from various sectors attended, for what was a celebratory evening of networking, dining, fundraising and great entertainment.

Chair of RICS Matrics North East, Puneet Vedhera of Knight Frank in Newcastle said: “Our annual Ball is one of the highlights in our event calendar. It seems to grow every year, and this year was no exception. We had a great turnout, and some wonderful comments from guests who enjoyed getting the opportunity to celebrate their past year’s successes with friends and colleagues, whilst meeting new contacts and giving something back to two important charities.”

He added: “I would like to say a huge thank you to all those who attended and helped us raise funds for these extremely worthy causes, and thank you to IKO who sponsored our event and made it possible and one of our best Ball’s yet.”
