Date: December 31, 2017
Start Time: 16:00:00
Location: Town Moor Newcastle, Exhibition Park Entrance
In the day’s counting down to the end of 2017, local people who pass through Exhibition Park and onto the Town Moor may notice a thicket of thorny brambles and the shapes of strange animals in the undergrowth as a monstrous lair grows in size as we approach New Year’s Eve.
This year, NewcastleGateshead Initiative and Newcastle City Council are collaborating with outdoor arts company Walk the Plank to present an exciting, beastly bonfire and breath-taking firework display.
East of the Sun, West of the Moon takes inspiration from Norse mythology and local folklore. A bonfire uncannily resembling a giant beast’s lair will form the centrepiece to the evening’s theatrics before culminating in a firework finale.
The event will feature a range of fun fair entertainment and food and drink concessions to keep everyone entertained prior to the main event.
4pm: Event space will be open for visitors to gather and enjoy the fun fair and entertainment
5pm: The main performance will begin
6pm: Event finale
