Godfrey Syrett delivers six-figure contract for Greaves West & Ayre’s new office

North East furniture specialist, Godfrey Syrett has delivered a six-figure contract to fit-out the new offices with some of its latest designs, providing flexible modern workspace and a much enhanced environment for the firm’s staff, clients and visitors.

The move to the new 12,000 sq.ft premises follows GWA’s merger with East Lothian accountants NC Campbell & Co in October 2016, creating a combined business with 12 partners and over 100 staff.

The firm says the move to Walkergate in central Berwick will improve its operations by bringing all of its Berwick staff under one roof and provide them with the flexibility to continue to grow.

John Coats, partner at Greaves West & Ayre said: “This move is the result of a long search to find suitable premises, which will help us to be more efficient and future-proof ourselves as the industry becomes more digital. We have signed a lease of 25 years, showing our long-term commitment to this location”.

Godfrey Syrett has installed a range of soft seating to the reception area, open and semi-private seating for staff break-out spaces, dining furniture in the kitchen and a range of desks, meeting tables and task chairs.

Mr Coats continued: “We knew when we started planning our new office building we wanted something modern and functional for our clients, and a spacious and comfortable environment for our staff. Godfrey Syrett worked with these requirements to suggest products that would work together to create the perfect finish for our new space and we are very happy with the end result.”

Jacqui Morris, northern key accounts manager at Godfrey Syrett added: “Corporate occupiers are placing greater emphasis on the comfort and well-being of employees to maximise enjoyment and performance at work. This is reflected in the furniture solutions we provided to GWA’s new office, which give a bright and welcoming feel to the office space, whilst providing comfortable and practical solutions with integrated electrics and collaborative working spaces.”

Godfrey Syrett, which designs, manufactures and distributes contract furniture throughout the UK, is targeting growth in the commercial sector as a major part of it’s strategic plan. Last year the firm completed a bespoke zesty-themed office furniture fit-out on behalf of Stockton-based call centre business, Lemon Business Solutions.
