New branding and trading name for Leathers LLP

The firm which was established by Michael Leather in 1990 and now has offices in Newcastle and Durham has a strong client following in the south of England, and act for clients in France, Croatia, Czech Republic, Germany and the USA but were aware that some still perceived the business as being an accounting practice based solely in Durham.

Managing Partner Michael Leather commented:

“Leathers is no longer about an individual, me, with a support act, our great team of advisers.  That support act is already front and centre stage.  Our change of name reflects that and also the integral part that we play in helping our clients to manage their financial lives.  Our existing clients simply say we are “Leathers the Accountants” and they demand, and receive, care of the highest level.

“Our strapline is also important: “people who look after people. in business and in life”. We provide a very personal service to our clients.  We do our utmost to look after them not only in their business affairs but as financial matters impinge on family, we often look after the financial aspects for family members too.”

Development Director, Tim Mallon said:

“We have had a great start to the year with and unprecendented increase in new work and client referrals which is testament to the quality of advice we provide to clients.  It’s been an exciting time for us with three new members of the team coming on board to boost our numbers towards 20. The new branding is the product of a contributions from right across our entire team and I have been hugely encouraged by how much the team engaged in the project.”

Together with colleagues, Barry James and Neil Matthews, Michael is taking part in Tour de Force 2017, in which they will cycle the Tour De France cycling course one week ahead of the professionals to raise funds for the William Wates Memorial Trust.
