Love to play host but hate the hassle? Graze & Gorge may be the answer this festive season

Bringing the Australasian-inspired trend of grazing tables to the North East is Graze & Gorge, which specialises in luxe platters and grazing tables that are almost too pretty to eat… almost. After spending a year in Sydney – the birthplace of the grazing table trend – founder Millicia West knew the concept could work back home in the North East.

She explains: “Long nights spent relaxing over great food in good company, what’s not to love?”

For smaller groups, their boards and platters are a perfect go-to, but their grazing tables (catering eight people onwards) are where they really come into their own. Styling and serve ware are all part of the package, each table is intricately designed with fresh eucalyptus, candles, rustic apple crates, and custom-made wooden and marble platters.

Bespoke grazing

Each Graze & Gorge platter and grazing table is completely bespoke; the beauty is that no two displays are the same.

“We’re creative, experimental and committed to sourcing the finest, local produce the North East has to offer,” Millicia says. “We live in a region of such incredible bounty, each of our tables hopes to celebrate that.

“I’m a self-proclaimed foodie, so now that exploring local markets and farm shops qualifies as ‘research’ for me is a dream come true.

“Our cheese is sourced from Teesdale and Weardale creameries, our meat is cured in Middlesbrough, the fruit is picked up at Grainger Market that morning, and our honeycomb
is from the Northumberland Honey Company.

“Yes, our platters and grazing tables are about discovering Graze & Gorge, but they’re also about putting other fantastic suppliers in the spotlight, too.

“I get a real buzz when my customers ask where they can get their hands on a particular chutney or cheese, knowing I’m helping to support a local producer is a great feeling.

“The best thing about grazing tables is there’s lots of flexibility – have a particular brie that you just need on your board? Just say the word. Want to double up on our signature cacao, praline and pistachio bark? Not a problem (quite frankly, we don’t blame you).

“Ultimately, our aim is to take your celebration to the next level. No event is too big or too small; from a corporate breakfast table for ten to a Christmas drinks reception for 80, Graze & Gorge are sure to please your guests and bring something truly unique to the table.”
