The Lobster Ball – one of the most highly-anticipated events in the social calendar, providing the opportunity to dress up, drink, dance and tuck into superb cuisine – returns to Hardwick Hall on May 17

The annual Lobster Ball is just around the corner at Hardwick Hall Hotel, Sedgefield – and once again hundreds of merrymakers will be ensuring that they don’t miss one of

the top nights of the year.
The Lobster Ball is renowned for attracting

some of the UK’s top acts – and this year is no exception.

Headlining on May 17 is one of the world’s leading tribute acts, The Bootleg Beatles, who have had a career almost as long as the Fab Four themselves, spanning more than 30 years.

The night will also pay tribute to another British great when Rob Lamberti brings the hits of George Michael to the stage.

Once described by George Michael himself as “looking more like George Michael than I do”, he’ll be going through the singer’s full repertoire, from his Wham! days to the hits of his solo career.

Also entertaining guests on the night will be soul singer Diane Shaw, who has performed alongside the likes of Tito Jackson, Sister Sledge and The Stylistics, and will bring the magic of Motown to life at the ball.

As well as musical performances, guests will also be entertained by compere Steve Walls, who is a firm favourite among regulars at the Lobster Ball, and a fashion show featuring the clothes of award- winning Durham menswear shop Woven.

The black-tie event includes a drinks reception and canapes and a four-course gourmet lobster
surf and turf menu, created by chefs at the acclaimed Rib Room Steakhouse and Grill.

And guests can enjoy complimentary wine, lager and beer throughout the evening, as well as a Taittinger Champagne bar.

John Adamson, owner of Hardwick Hall Hotel, believes this year’s ball will be one of the best yet.

“We are always on the lookout for ways to make the Lobster Ball bigger and better than the year before and this year is no different.

“The Bootleg Beatles, Diane Shaw and Rob Lamberti are all incredibly talented performers, who are sure to put on an amazing show and bring a real party atmosphere to the evening.

“There’s a lot to look forward to at this year’s event and it is certain to be a fantastic night in aid of charity.”
