Martin Hillerby
Chairman, Stockton Town Football Club. Est. 1987

I work full time for an engineering design consultancy as an electrical project engineer. I’ve been club chairman for ten years and was vice chairman before for four years. I became involved two years earlier when my eldest son was asked to play for one of the junior teams.

Club’s essence

Stockton Town Football Club is at the heart of the wider community of Stockton to offer football opportunities to all the people that want to be part of the club.

The volunteer-led club is entirely financed by self-generated funds and sponsorship.

Biggest obstacle

As a successful FA Charter Standard Club we have had access to capital funding but have encountered many problems with delivering better facilities for the benefit of the town, for many reasons.

Greatest achievement

We have progressed from being a total junior set up seven years ago to competing in the Northern League Division One and entering both the FA Vase and FA Cup.

Future plans

The future will revolve around raising revenues to allow us to maintain our facilities and to keep developing the club.
