Helen McArdle is a pioneer for care in the North East and the eponymous company she established in 1989 has become synonymous with quality and innovation; two attributes that are clear to see in her new flagship care home in Jesmond.
Opening in November, Fleming Court is Helen McArdle Care’s 19th care home to open since 2008. The home has been designed to offer a unique living space, purpose built to ensure that residents have a high quality of life and that they receive the best care. Facilities include a cinema café, restaurant and bar, balconies and terraces, bowling green, sensory gardens and a hair and beauty salon. The restaurant, café and bar will offer fine dining for residents and provide a social place to dine for family, friends and the Jesmond community. Other services available to residents include a concierge and driver, a dedicated social co-ordinator and physiotherapy.
The new care home is in the heart of Jesmond on Burdon Terrace, a short distance from the bustling Clayton Road shops and amenities, and close to transport links, parks and leisure facilities.
Sean McArdle, director of service and wellbeing at Helen McArdle Care, said: “Getting older should be a relaxing time and Fleming Court is the perfect place to enjoy your later years; people can live as independently as they want with as much support and care as they need. We are also creating a lifestyle that reflects the dignity and luxury that older people deserve.”
Fleming Court will offer residents a wide choice of size and style of suites, decorated and furnished to the highest of standards, some with their own door into the beautiful gardens and some with views spanning across Jesmond and Newcastle.
Heading up the team at Fleming Court is Suzanne Hughes, who has worked in care of the elderly for over 20 years.
She says: “I am thrilled to be managing Fleming Court. I have worked with Helen McArdle Care for over a year now and I am excited to have been given the opportunity to commission my first care home. I am really looking forward to the completion of the care home and I can’t wait to welcome people to their new home.”
A marketing suite and showroom at Jesmond United Reformed Church on Burdon Terrace will give prospective enquirers the opportunity to meet Suzanne and find out more about the facilities and services that are available at Fleming Court. There will also be the opportunity to reserve a room off plan before the opening weekend on November 19-20.
The marketing suite will be open: Saturday October 8, 10am to midday; Thursday October 13, 6pm to 8pm; Saturday October 22, 10am to midday; Saturday October 29, 10am to midday and Thursday November 3, 6pm to 8pm.
