Skills driving law firm’s growth

February 4, 2019

North East-based Gordon Brown Law Firm LLP (GBLF) is continuing to strengthen its corporate and commercial offering for 2019 and has recently recruited experienced solicitor Anna McGill as partner. Here, Anna talks about her new role and her future at the firm

I was drawn to GBLF due to its fantastic reputation, the calibre of recruitment into the team over the last couple of years and its commercial approach. With a growing presence in corporate work, it’s clearly a firm which is keen to evolve and move with the times. My role is very much a new one within the firm, which will see me focus on supporting existing and new clients in and around the region dealing with the likes of company and business sales, share capital reorganisations, investments and fundraising.

I will also be working closely with John Morgan, partner and head of commercial at GBLF. His role is very much providing support and guidance to SMEs and large companies while assisting with complex transactions surrounding commercial property.

Following my studies at Oxford University and Nottingham Law School, I made the bold move to London to complete my training at a leading international law firm before qualifying into the corporate team.

Since relocating back to the region, I have gained ten years’ experience at Womble Bond Dickinson LLP, specialising in corporate law and developing my skill set and knowledge throughout that time.

I’m very much looking forward to putting the experience that I have gained throughout my career so far into practice at GBLF and seeing how my new role develops, while working closely with the team to assist in the growth of the business over the next few years.
