Operating in the IT and telecommunications sectors, hardly a day goes by without Activ Technology having to be aware of the latest innovation and technological change that is set to sweep across the market place.
Yet, by being fleet-of-foot, flexible and continually focused on the customer, the company is experiencing high levels of growth across its divisions, so demonstrating it is not only keeping pace with the changes but is ahead of the curve. Indeed, it is currently seeing a growth in revenue within its technology division of 78 per cent and telecoms of 53 per cent.
Established in 2010 by managing director, Ian Gillespie, as Activ Telecom, it rebranded in 2013 to Activ Technology as it diversified its offering to become a managed service provider for IT and telecommunications.
Ian says: “The changes that have taken place in our sectors in recent years have been breathtaking and it is not going to slow down. You have to embrace it and move with it constantly. It can be challenging but that’s what makes it so interesting.”
The 25-strong company attributes its success to its integrated services approach, which enables customers to embark on a bespoke journey in close partnership with Activ’s expert customer support team.
The launch of new products such as Promethean interactive boards, onsite training into a range of North East colleges and the introduction of Activ-hosted Mitel – which enables an organisation to simplify its business communications with Cloud solutions – has helped Activ establish a strong foothold in the education sector. Cloud communications eliminates the need to spend a lot of money up front, offers a flexible plan and is tailored to an organisation’s needs.
Ian adds: “Our goal is to be a central part of a customer’s journey. We want to take time, maintenance and pressure away from them.
“We offer customers an integrated solution, tailored to their specific requirements. To do this, we have established a senior management team within the business who have the expertise and knowledge to guide our younger members, who are progressing their career journey.
“Our people are key to the business and it is important that they feel valued.
“It is the consistent blend of mature and new skills which keeps Activ at the forefront. Indeed, we are looking to grow and currently seek a highly-motivated individual to join our business development team.”
