With outstanding service and use of only the best ingredients going into everything they create, 1910 is the perfect place to make memories that will last a lifetime.

Trenchers and Trenchers takeaway
Offering friendly service with a smile, Trenchers is a place the whole family will love. The restaurant notably enjoys a very special spot directly under the dome itself with a pianist playing on selected days.

Following almost 40 years of traditional fish and chips at Trenchers of Whitby, the group are proud to bring this institution to Whitley Bay.

The menu includes fish and chips, vegetarian options, grilled fish, traditional British fayre and fresh seafood including oysters, crab, prawns, lobsters and much more. Be sure to check out the specials for the catch of the day.

Meanwhile, Trenchers takeaway is available with traditional and delicious fish and chips available among lots of other favourites.

Valerie’s Tearoom
Taking diners back to the era of ultimate sophistication and the start of Spanish City’s journey back in 1910, Valerie’s Tearoom is ideally located on the seafront and adorned with luxurious materials and cuisine to match.

Valerie’s Tearoom offers a selection of traditional teas, herbal teas, fruit teas and coffees, as well as juices and smoothies available to enjoy inside or to take away. For those looking for something to eat, pastries, muffins and cakes are made fresh daily while the breakfast/ brunch and daytime menus are packed full of delicious options including Eggs Benedict, Full English Breakfasts, omelettes, sandwiches, salads and quiches that are guaranteed to delight.

Afternoon Tea
With head pastry chef, Kristian Branch, at the helm of a talented team, Spanish City is confident in offering one of the best afternoon teas in the North East.

Full of opulence and indulgence, relax and enjoy endless teas or coffees included in the price of your afternoon tea, or upgrade to enjoy a glass of Prosecco or Champagne, before savouring freshly made finger sandwiches, divine quiches, savoury pastries, homemade scones and painstakingly created cakes that are guaranteed to ‘wow’ you.

Spanish City also offer a Gentlemen’s Afternoon Tea for those that fancy something truly hearty. Think black pudding pastries, generously filled sandwiches, flaky sausage rolls and giant Jammy Dodgers to name a few – you’ll want plenty of room for this one!

Waffle and Pancake House
The Spanish City Waffle and Pancake House is all about fun. With a counter full to the brim of luxury ice creams and a menu bursting with exciting waffles, pancakes and sundaes, your sweet tooth will not be disappointed.

Dream of caramels, exotic fruits, luxurious chocolates and delicious candies atop truly scrumptious waffles, pancakes and sundaes.
