Case study: Sunderland University & Bdaily

Bdaily are an online publisher of UK regional business news, as well as providers of bespoke online advertising and content marketing services to commercial clients. Supporting plans to extend their reach and launch a new platform in 2022, they recruited First class Media, Culture and Communications graduate Hannah Phipps, confident that she would have the required skills and knowledge they were failing to find elsewhere.

Hannah has supported in the development of the new platform, as well as managing all aspects of digital marketing across a variety of clients.

Business manager Andrew Carter, said: “Hannah has been a great addition, helping us shape this new marketing role as her skillset became obvious. She is constantly learning and sharing that knowledge. It has helped to alleviate resource issues across the business as she proved to be a quick learner, gelling fantastically with the team.”

Hannah said: “As marketing executive, many elements of my job involve lots of creativity!

“I have always been keen on writing since I was younger and with this job I get to do lots of it as well as explore new ways of writing that I haven’t in the past.

“I am always learning something new too. Digital marketing changes every day, so you can never run out of new things to learn or new websites to explore. Since starting my Internship at Bdaily I have picked up lots of new skills across the board – everything from graphic design to coding! I get on really well with the team I work with as well – that’s always a big bonus to any job!”
