An exhibition to mark the 21st birthday of the Angel of the North – one of the UK’s most iconic and best-loved landmarks – has been unveiled in the sculpture’s home city of Gateshead.
21 Years of an Angel includes a variety of original pieces, including paintings, drawings, Chinese art, embroidery, textile works and photographs, by an array of local artists.
The exhibition, held in The Gallery at Gateshead Library, is sponsored by Sintons. The law firm hosted an event to mark the opening night, which was attended by professionals from across the North East. Speeches were given by Mark Quigley, managing partner of Sintons, Mayor of Gateshead Jill Green, and Karolynne Hart, from Gateshead Council’s culture team
