The benefits and growing impact of blockchain were showcased to entrepreneurs and professionals from the region’s tech sector at an event in Newcastle. Block Party, held at TusPark Eagle Labs, was a night of discovery, learning and networking around the theme of blockchain. The event had a particular focus on highlighting real life case studies where the technology is making a difference in industry. The event, attended by more than 100 people, was organised by Blocknorth – a training business which was one of the earliest users of blockchain in the region – and supported by law firm Sintons. Speakers from businesses including London-based Gospel Technology, Agent Not Needed and Digital City showcased
their work in blockchain, and Syscoin gave a virtual presentation. Further presentations were given by Gordon Dodd from Blocknorth, tech specialist lawyer Lucy Carlin at Sintons, and Andrew Dixon from Barclays
