Eastern Airways goes independent following collapse of Flybe

An airline operating flights out of Teesside International Airport, Eastern Airways, now has its own scheduled routes on sale and bookable online.

Following the collapse of Flybe, which was a key carrier from regional airports, the full Eastern Airways network has continued to operate as normal.

The airline has also honoured tickets on Flybe services operated by Eastern for the past few days and will continue to do so until today (March 10).

To mark the airline going independent again, Eastern is offering fares from £19.99 one way with complimentary on-board refreshments and 15kg of baggage.

Eastern Airways has also announced four further routes to provide continuity and regional protection on routes that were operated by Flybe.

Yesterday (March 9), the airline launched three of seven new routes from Teesside International Airport to Belfast City, Dublin and Southampton.

Flights to London City commence in April followed by seasonal services to Alicante and the Isle of Man.

Roger Hage, general manager of commercial and operations at Eastern Airways, said: “We are pleased to announce that our flights are now on sale as we’ve moved quickly to introduce a new booking system for Eastern Airways flights since becoming independent again.

“Our newly announced routes from Southampton to Manchester, Newcastle and Aberdeen, plus Aberdeen to Birmingham have already been well received nationally in recovering major lost connections which are now bookable at www.easternairways.com, along with our entire existing network.
