Gentoo Homes launches ‘homes for our heroes’ for key workers

North East-based housebuilder Gentoo Homes has launched a new scheme as a thank you to those who have continued to provide key frontline services during the COVID-19 outbreak.

The Homes for our Heroes reward scheme is available across all of Gentoo Homes’ developments, with sales offices and show homes re-opening this weekend (May 30).

The package, which is worth up to £5000, is specific to each development and house types. Packages for key workers could include upgraded luxury flooring throughout, fitted blinds throughout, AEG integrated appliances, gardens lawned to rear. Other upgrades could include high-quality move in furniture pack to include sofa, bedroom furniture, dining room table/chares and kitchen essential pack, luxury Hammonds fitted wardrobes to bedrooms one and two, factory fitted mirrors to bathrooms and upgraded light switches.

The housebuilder is also offering priority appointments for key workers.

Anthony Douglas, operations director at Gentoo Homes, said: “The COVID-19 pandemic has been a hugely challenging time for us all and the role of our ‘key workers’ in keeping the nation moving and protecting us throughout the crisis has been nothing short of heroic. We really want to do something for those workers who are thinking about buying a new home with us so that we could show our gratitude.”

The scheme is eligible for critical workers as defined by the Government. This covers workers in the following lines of work health and social care workers, education and childcare workers, key public services, local and national government, food and other necessary goods, public and national safety, transport, and utilities, communications and financial services.
