Jackson Hogg launches open network to find short-term employment for STEM professionals

A North East recruitment and outsourced people services firm has launched an open access platform to help highly skilled workers who have found themselves out of work during the coronavirus pandemic.

The Jackson Hogg Open Network has been created in response to the fact that vast swathes of industries are struggling to keep afloat, with many companies scaling down headcounts as a result.

It is a free platform for businesses to engage and advertise directly with known immediately available professionals in STEM-driven industries.

By removing the barrier of recruitment fees, Jackson Hogg is seeking to disrupt the market by encouraging more businesses to engage talent where previously they have been reluctant to expand.

Based in Newcastle, Jackson Hogg is a recruitment partner specialising in talent acquisition across science, technology, engineering and mathematics-driven industries.

Company CEO Richard Hogg said: “My experience of working within industry is that there are frequently projects, sales or business opportunities which are on the shelf for later or aren’t being fully resourced.

“Businesses could take the opportunity to take on a fantastic candidate for a few days or weeks and create new business value and in turn create new employment.

“Not everyone is in the same position – some want the opportunity to gain work experience with a different product or to give back on a pro-bono basis or offer mentoring support.

“We need to support our businesses to be creative and engage directly with the platform to generate new permanent, contract and business opportunities.

“We’ll be holding regular community calls to increase connectivity where business leaders will give an update on their market and candidates can network to discuss opportunities, ideas and experiences.

“The whole group will be tasked with engaging and supporting each other whilst promoting new introductions.

“This is a collective effort to stimulate employment, and we really want to create a community-driven network to support all of the people and businesses that are looking to develop and grow right now.

“Please encourage your friends to engage.”

Candidates interested in signing up to be part of the Jackson Hogg Open Network can register on the company’s website – www.jacksonhogg.com/open-network/ – and interested companies should contact Jackson Hogg directly.
