North East Times is seeking an experienced business journalist to work across print, online, events and film. The successful candidate will responsible for sourcing, writing and editing a range of profile interviews, news stories and feature articles across North East Times’ multi-channel platforms and contract publications. Alison is an NCTJ-qualified journalist with more than 10 years’ experience. She has written extensively for a range of digital and print titles, and has managed the delivery of multiple magazines as editor. She is adept at creating engaging copy that informs and entertains its target audience.
Managing Director & Creative Director
Peter was the lead designer at previous business publication before leaving to become a senior designer and then creative manager at two prominent marketing companies. He brings this vast experience in print and digital design with him as the creative mind behind the North East Times’ print and digital platforms.
John has over 30 years experience in media, sales, management and marketing. He became product champion for The Journal newspaper and also ran its business magazine. John then moved into professional services. He helped re-brand law firm Watson Burton and wealth manager Brewin Dolphin.
Martin helped shape the former North East Times for more than a decade as a sales manager and commercial director and now has the opportunity to realise the full extent of his vision for the title as advertising director. He works with clients to develop and create on and o ine media solutions which deliver results.
Business Development Director
Rachael has a real passion for the North East and with over 14 years’ experience in media and publishing she brings a wealth of experience to the business. Before joining North East Times, she was senior business development manager at BQ Magazine, where she developed and led a range of commercial publishing and media initiatives across Scotland and the North.
Chris is a highly experienced editorial and commercial photographer who has been commissioned by The Guardian, Little White Lies Magazine, The National Portrait Gallery, BT Broadband, EMI and Virgin Records. He provides the
lead photography for the all-new North East Times, in addition to running his own successful freelance photography business.
Digital Marketing Manager
Chloe is a digital marketing specialist who began working at North East Times while completing her degree in marketing management. She spent a year at a local marketing agency and has an extensive knowledge of effective social media strategy.
Andrew is an innovative film maker who uses the latest equipment and techniques to create beautifully-crafted and informative films. Andrew works with North East Times on a freelance basis but has become an integral part of the team as the importance of lm and video becomes ever more prominent in ingregrated marketing strategies.
Digital marketing executive
Kirbie is a marketing management student at Northumbria University. Having already developed skills in both B2B & B2C marketing through modules at university, she is currently undertaking her placement year with us at North East Times. Kirbie has over 7 years retail experience with popular high street brands and is hoping to build on her creative and digital marketing experience after a previous fashion marketing role.
Richard is a highly educated and well-rounded journalist who has written on a broad range of topics and had work published in reputable magazines and online platforms. Richard’s role for is to diversify through content creation, writing features on independents and SMEs and interviewing regional influencers and leaders.
Eamonn Leavey joins the team as a business ambassador, following a 12-year career
with the North East England Chamber of Commerce. He was responsible for setting
up the successful Chamber President’s Club, which focused engagement and connectivity with all the influential business leaders across all sectors and across the region. Eamonn has been a trustee for over twenty years with local charity, Brave Hearts of The North East.
