November 20, 2019
A Newcastle-based law firm has been appointed to a new full-service legal panel for a FTSE 100 energy company.
Womble Bond Dickinson is on the National Grid panel following a competitive tender process.
The number of firms on the legal framework has been reduced from 12 to ten, with Womble Bond Dickinson the only new company to be appointed.
The UK full-service panel covers a broad range of legal services covering both regulated and non-regulated property and planning, corporate services, as well as gas and electricity legal work.
Fiona O’Kane, real estate partner at Womble Bond Dickinson, which has offices in Newcastle’s St Ann’s Wharf and One Trinity, said: “It’s fantastic to be appointed to National Grid’s UK legal panel, and to be one of ten firms selected from a field of 60.
“We are committed to working innovatively and effectively with National Grid to deliver legal solutions and will bring our extensive energy sector expertise to the relationship.
“As always, we are grateful for the huge amount of effort and hard work across the firm that has gone in to securing this appointment.”
The panel announcement follows Womble Bond Dickinson’s recent appointments to Transport for London and Crown Commercial Service’s legal panels.
Womble Bond Dickinson has been immersed in the energy industry sector for decades, building up a great depth of experience across the various different forms of energy and power.
The firm is well placed to guide companies through the complex issues that affect companies operating in this sector.
Womble Bond Dickinson’s work in the energy sector covers all types of electricity generation and gas production projects, including the development, installation and operation of new electricity transmission networks and gas pipeline systems.
Ranking in the UK’s top 20 law firms, Womble Bond Dickinson provides a full range of legal expertise from across eight offices in the UK, including London, and 19 offices in the US.
