Loganair announces new partnership with Newcastle United
January 10, 2020
Loganair has continued its expansion into the North East today (January 10) by announcing a new partnership with Newcastle United Football Club
The associate partnership will see the Scottish air carrier begin advertising at televised Premier League games for the first time, starting on January 18 when Newcastle play Chelsea at St James’ Park.
The news comes as Loganair recently announced plans to introduce larger aircraft on its popular Newcastle to Aberdeen route, increasing capacity by 21 per cent.
The airline now flies six routes from Newcastle to Aberdeen, Brussels, Bergen, Stavanger, Newquay and Guernsey.
To celebrate the partnership, customers booking flights from Newcastle from now until February 29 will be entered into a competition to win one of four signed Newcastle United home shirts.
Former Newcastle captain, Scotland international and current club ambassador Bobby Moncur was on hand to commemorate the deal at Newcastle airport, presenting the team at Loganair with a co-branded football and signed shirt.
Kay Ryan, chief commercial officer at Loganair, said: “We are delighted to announce our partnership with Newcastle United.
“Travellers from the North East can now fly from Newcastle to Norway as well as other destinations in Belgium, Cornwall and the Channel Islands.
“Earlier this week, we were pleased to announce increased capacity on our popular Aberdeen to Newcastle route, improving links between North East Scotland and the North East of England and we look forward to discussing how we can further collaborate with Newcastle United later in the year.”
Dale Aitchison, head of commercial at Newcastle United, commented on the partnership: “We are delighted to welcome Loganair, the UK’s fastest growing airline, on board as our newest associate partner.
“Loganair is not only showing a huge commitment to Newcastle United but the North East region as a whole and we look forward to working closely with the team to raise awareness of the routes from Newcastle Airport.”
