Transmit’s recruitment reflects its ambitions to support SMEs
August 9, 2022
A recruitment drive at Gateshead headquartered Transmit reflects the team’s ambitions to help more people across the UK to start and grow their own business.
Over the past ten years, Transmit Startups has helped 12,000 people to become entrepreneurs, as the UK’s leading provider of the British Business Bank’s Start Up Loans scheme. The team has poured that knowledge into developing sister brand Smarta, which helps businesses to continue their growth with training and support to gain confidence and commercial edge.
Now Transmit has appointed four new experts to inject a wealth of valuable experience, expertise and energy into its growing UK-based team.
Amy Knight has joined in the newly-created role of Editorial Manager, a varied role including everything from scriptwriting to blog posts. Previous roles at the likes of National Enterprise Network will be hugely beneficial to Amy as she inspires and educates more business startups with content.
Wes Clough takes on the new role of Marketing Manager where he will put to use 20 years’ experience of marketing and design, most recently gained at industrial tools company Enerpac.
Eemie Wong steps into the new position of Compliance Manager, joining the company from her role with Coping with Cancer where she was Quality Assurance Manager. Eemie also holds another position alongside Transmit as QHSE Manager with Hyserve Ltd.
And Scott Allen is the latest Business Advisor to join the team, bringing with him valuable knowledge of personal finance, compliance and FCA regulations to help steer loan applicants through the startup process.
“We’re at a really exciting point in Transmit’s own business startup story and the appointment of these talented experts will help us to write our next chapter,” said Transmit’s Operations Director Ian Straker. “We want to make the entrepreneurial path as smooth as possible for those who are brave enough to choose it and our brilliant new team members will help us to design and deliver the services to do just that.”
