Double Eleven expands with Middlesbrough Boho X move

A games developer says it is primed to shift up a level following a headquarters move.

Double Eleven is switching to Middlesbrough’s Boho X.

Bosses say the development reflects its “commitment to being a force for good, driving positive change and fostering growth”.

The seven-storey building will include a classroom, auditorium, market hall and gym, with new roles created across hospitality, cleaning and security positions.

Staff will switch to Boho X in the coming days, with an official opening planned for later in the year.

The move marks another chapter in Double Eleven’s history that has seen the company – which also has a site in Malaysia – work from locations including lofts and shared office spaces.

Kimberley Turner, chief financial officer, said: “We’ve experienced remarkable growth, expanding from just over 100 employees to nearly 400 within the past three years, with the majority of our workforce based in the centre of Middlesbrough.

“We’re proud to have been able to retain many of the local talents in the region and support their growth over the years.”

Mark South, chief operating officer, added: “Boho X is a remarkable addition to Teesside.

“Starting from a new, empty shell allowed us to design and build our space from scratch, and transform it into something that exemplifies our continual investment in our people and our culture.

“Our new headquarters aspire to be a vibrant hub for developers, students and professionals in the region, and will support our ambition to host industry events, educational programmes and relevant local initiatives.

“We’ve combined our experiences in incredible offices all over the world with best practices for modern working environments, which has resulted in a contemporary design.”
