An extended reality software development firm has marked a multi-million-pound Middle Eastern contract with an industry award.
Luminous XR is creating ten jobs after securing a deal with a major oil provider.
And the Newcastle-based firm toasted the success with the best manufacturing, industrial and construction solution accolade at the recent XR Awards.
The company says it will recruit developers for its Middle East work in the “coming months”, with the drive set to be accompanied by an office switch.
Founded in 2004 under a different name, Luminous XR began as a 3D mapping start-up for the construction sector.
It later began deploying its technology to the augmented and virtual reality spaces, and now provides developers with tools to create and shape metaverse-style virtual training programmes across the manufacturing, industrial and energy sectors.
Hailing its award success, Ben Bennett, Luminous XR chief executive, pictured above, said: “This is wonderful recognition for the whole team and testament to all their rigour, hard work, expertise and creative innovation.
“I’d like to thank XR Today and the judges for recognising our efforts in providing quality training solutions, and what we do to help companies implement impactful and immersive learning through virtual reality.”
