Kinewell Energy powers up with recruitment drive

A cleantech operator has increased its team by more than half with a string of hires.

Kinewell Energy has added five staff and appointed its first chief technology officer.

The Newcastle-based operator, which provides software that aids offshore wind farm development, says the recruitment drive significantly bolsters its quest to “support the global transition to a net-zero society”.

Dr Henna Bains has been promoted to chief technology officer, with Ruth Finch arriving as marketing manager and Cherish Brown appointed office manager.

Modelling and optimisation engineers Jiaxin Zhang and Andrew Brown are also now part of the team, alongside junior full stack developer Devendra Dhokare.

Dr Andrew Jenkins, founder and chief executive of Kinewell Energy, which now employs 13 staff, said: “Our new starters have joined at what is an incredibly exciting juncture.

“They are incredibly knowledgeable about their respective fields, so I’m confident they will all hit the ground running.”

Dr Bains, who was appointed chief technology officer in June, added: “Our aim is to continue developing new infrastructure optimisation solutions, be it for offshore wind or other renewable sectors, and Ruth, Cherish, Andy, Jiaxin and Dev will be key in helping us achieve that.

“They will all bring something different to the business and fresh, unique perspectives to the work we do.”
