Azets hails another record year for corporate finance team

An accountancy firm is celebrating after a division secured a successive year of record results.

Azets says its North East corporate finance team delivered another strong performance in 2022.

Work encompassed several sales of businesses to overseas buyers, with further deals including Countrywide Property Group Holdings’ move for Bishop Auckland’s Stormking Windows.

Its progress was complemented by a team expansion, with Lee Humble promoted to corporate finance partner and Mike Willliams made associate director.

Jamie Hepworth and John Aitken were also named corporate finance senior executives.

Lee [pictured, above] said: “Our team has performed strongly in the last 12 months, and we are pleased with what we have achieved for our clients with some complex and demanding transactions.

“It’s also massively encouraging to be completing such strategic deals for North East businesses, helping them to grow at a time when the economy needs it most.

“We have a strong and varied deals pipeline for at least the next 12 months.

“And, given our strength of relationship with buyers, investors and funders, we are well placed to support a variety of client needs.

“We remain confident of what the new year will bring.”

Azets has offices across the North East, including bases in Alnwick, Gosforth, Sunderland, County Durham and Thornaby, near Stockton.

It last year bought independent accountancy and business advisory firm Tait Walker.
