Beanies sets sights on global growth after award success

A flavoured coffee firm is eyeing fresh international ties after securing a top award.

Darlington-based Beanies says it has a “large number of opportunities” following a recent Paris trade show.

Bosses say the interest adds further momentum to the business, which is going “from strength-to-strength” having earlier this year won a Queen’s Award for International Trade.

Mark Stangroom, sales and marketing director, said: “The brand has grown 38 per cent since before COVID-19, and our Queen’s Award was based on seven years of continuous export growth.

“We’re keen to get back up to where we were during the pandemic, but we know it may come from other areas other than web sales, including export – we sell to more than 30 countries worldwide, including South Africa, India, Malaysia and Japan – and have just started in Australia.”

Launched in 2013, Beanies offers coffee in more than 40 flavours, with its UK order book including Sainsbury’s, Aldi, Lidl and Home Bargains.
