Boldon-based consultancy wins top industry award
July 5, 2017
The double celebration took place at the Energy Live Consultancy Awards in London which recognises the best third party intermediaries (TPIs) in the energy industry,
Established in 2004, Square One Utilities has gained an enviable reputation for delivering the highest standards and boasts high profile clients both locally and nationally ranging from The Port of Tyne Authority, Newcastle Building Society and The Royal Grammar School in the North East, to world renowned clients further afield such as The Royal Mint and Eton College.
Founder and managing director, Michael Harkus, said: “It’s great to reach the final of the national award, but I am particularly proud the company has landed the regional award as it is vindication that operating a highly professional, transparent and ethical service can get rightful recognition in what has become a somewhat crowded market space in recent years.
“There has been a proliferation of new entrants into the energy industry, with many having deployed aggressive sales techniques and high growth models. Whilst we have no aspirations of becoming the largest consultancy in the UK, we are confident that we can count ourselves as being amongst the very best. We have grown the business organically with virtually no marketing activity thanks to new business coming to us primarily via referrals from our existing satisfied customers.
“Our managers all have decades of senior industry experience and our core team has been with us for over a decade. It is this in-depth industry expertise coupled with long-term stability that has delivered an excellent rapport with our clients to the benefit of both parties. Clients know they are getting the service they rightly come to expect from us and our team has the satisfaction of seeing every job concluded professionally from beginning to end.
“Two years ago we were national finalists for Most Trusted Consultancy and last year we reached the final in the Best Customer Service category. To be recognised by our industry peers on a national level for the main award of the evening, Consultancy of The Year, is very rewarding and winning North East Consultancy of the year is richly deserved by our dedicated team.”
