Consultation begins on the next stage of Newcastle’s Local Plan

Newcastle City Council is launching a six week consultation on its draft Development and Allocations Plan to help meet the growing needs of the city for new homes and jobs through to 2030

Consultation began on Monday 9 October and runs until Monday 20 November.

The draft Development and Allocations Plan (DAP) is Part 2 of Local Plan and will help guide future development in Newcastle to 2030. The draft DAP supports the strategic policies set out in Part 1 of the Local Plan, the Core Strategy and Urban Core Plan (CSUCP), which was adopted in March 2015.

The draft DAP will provide more detailed policies that will be used to help make decisions on planning applications, and sets out allocations of housing and employment sites to support the CSUCP.

The council is inviting members of the public to have their say during the six week consultation. A series of drop in events, exhibitions and displays will take place across Newcastle.
