Cramlington’s Moody Logistics and Storage drives ahead with Fortec deal

A family-run transport firm says it is in gear for growth after striking an “important” deal.

Moody Logistics and Storage has been appointed freight operator Fortec’s North East distributor.

Bosses say the agreement – which has already created two driver jobs at the Cramlington company – will boost its pallet delivery business by 20 per cent.

Under the terms of the deal, goods are collected from Fortec’s East Midlands distribution hub, with Moody’s seeking to secure additional North East freight for southbound journeys.

Caroline Moody, Moody Logistics and Storage managing director, said: “This partnership represents an important growth opportunity.

“Our goal remains to reduce any ‘empty’ miles by generating more freight from the North East for the return journey to Fortec’s distribution hub that will further boost revenue potential.”

The business was selected as a distributor partly due to its long-standing relationship with Pall-Ex Group, which bought Fortec in 2020.

Barry Byers, Pall-Ex Group managing director – UK business units, added: “Moody Logistics and Storage was an obvious choice for this partnership in the North East.

“We are looking forward to seeing the positive effect it will have on the network.”
