Darlington’s Bondgate IT expands with deal for Stockton’s MCWare IT Solutions

An IT firm has bought a fellow market operator in a move bosses say has great potential to create new jobs.

Darlington-based Bondgate IT has acquired Stockton-headquartered MCWare IT Solutions.

Both firms have more than two decades of experience in managing, supporting and delivering business IT services, with MCWare well known across the global subsea and marine sectors for projects on various types of vessels.

Garry Brown, managing director of Bondgate IT, said: “I am delighted to combine two businesses which share an excellent reputation for client satisfaction and for delivering best-in-class technical solutions.

“We are committed to helping businesses use technology to their advantage and our valued clients can expect to continue to receive the same high-quality service that they have always enjoyed.

“We look forward to working together to deliver the very best IT support and management, cyber security, cloud and communications solutions.”

Jamie Scotchbrook, managing director of MCWare, added: “We quickly discovered both companies share the same values and principles and combining the businesses will benefit our respective teams and clients alike.

“By joining Garry and the team at Bondgate IT, we will be able to expand our service offering, while we will bring our unique specialism in the subsea sector.”

The deal was supported by RMT Accountants & Business Advisors and law firm Tilly, Bailey & Irvine.

Michael Cantwell, head of corporate finance at RMT Accountants & Business Advisors, said: “Bondgate and MCWare are an excellent fit and we’re very pleased to have been able to help bring them together.”

Craig Malarkey, head of Tilly, Bailey & Irvine’s corporate and commercial team, added: “Having worked with Garry and Bondgate IT for several years, it is exciting to see this new project commence.”
