East Durham College reveals new principal and chief executive

A learning provider has a new boss.

East Durham College has welcomed Scott Bullock as principal and chief executive.

He joins from Newcastle College, where he held the role of principal since 2020.

Boasting more than 20 years’ experience in further education and skills, Scott joined Newcastle College in August 2016 from New College Durham, as vice principal of curriculum and quality.

He was also previously an Ofsted inspector.

Scott said: “I am absolutely thrilled to have been offered the privilege of becoming the next principal of East Durham College.

“The college has a fantastic reputation and does amazing work; I am really looking forward to working with my new colleagues to lead the college through the next stage in its development.”

He will begin his role in the autumn.

East Durham College, which has campuses in Peterlee and Houghall, near Durham City, employs nearly 500 full and part-time staff, and has more than 6000 learners.
