Electric vehicle tech firm Ideanomics Digital drives on with 25-job plan

A global electric vehicle firm is creating North East jobs to accelerate its expansion.

Ideanomics Digital wants 25 staff to boost operations at its Newcastle headquarters.

The company is part of Ideanomics, and operates as its parent’s technology division, delivering IT innovation to support electric vehicles’ adoption and rollout.

Its new jobs cover areas including software development and business analysis.

Mark Thompson, Ideanomics’ director of software development, [pictured, below] said: “The technology here is as exciting as it comes; real artificial intelligence and machine learning.

 

 

“We know that tech talent in the North East is of a very high standard and can rise to the challenge.”

Ideanomics Digital is a member of tech network Dynamo North East, and is also working with Sunderland Software City, which it hopes will help it attract people starting their careers, as well as more experienced developers.

David Dunn, Dynamo and Sunderland Software City chief executive, said: “The North East is well equipped to support growing technology companies flourish.

“We’re delighted to be working with Ideanomics, and look forward to seeing their work unfold in bettering the electric vehicle industry across the globe.”

Welcoming the jobs announcement, North of Tyne Mayor Jamie Driscoll, added: “This is a big win for the region, and is testament to the talent we have.
