Elmtronics driving ahead with new electric vehicle partnerships

An electric vehicle technology firm has secured partnerships with several of the UK’s leading dealers.

Elmtronics is working with brands including Vauxhall, Citroen, Peugeot, Nissan, SEAT, Ford and Renault.

The Consett-headquartered firm is installing charging points at dealerships as operators move to keep pace with demand for electric vehicles.

The charging stations are linked to Hubsta, the network that connects to more than 55,000 charge points worldwide.

Simon Tate, sales director at Elmtronics, which works with dealers such as Pentagon, Lookers, Drive, Sherwoods and Wingrove Motor Group, said: “We are delighted to have the opportunity to work with some of the best-known franchise dealers across the UK.

“Going forward, we will be providing them with support to help them meet manufacturers’ requirements and ensure their electric vehicle charging infrastructure is in place.

“With the growing popularity of electric vehicles, combined with the fact there are more models on the market, there is now a need to ensure infrastructure is fit for the future.”

Elmtronics recently installed products at five independent Ford dealerships.

Will Smiles, managing director of Springfield Garage Knottingley Ltd, said: “We found the advice and professionalism of Elmtronics helped us to meet Ford’s standards at a competitive price.

“They provided a sensible solution and backed this up with good communication and an installation team who were first-class.

“We chose to work with Elmtronics as from the initial discussions it was clear they understood the direction of our business and were able to offer a reliable solution that suited our strategy now and for the future.”

Elmtronics has completed projects across several Ford franchise dealerships this year, with bosses predicting more will follow throughout 2020.
