European data centre work illuminates Durham-based Artech Lighting’s order book

A lighting maker says it is doing all it can to help “get our economy back on track” after securing large data centre work for international operators.

Artech Lighting has delivered systems and products to a host of high-profile projects across Europe for some of the world’s largest online organisations.

Having successfully completed projects for vast data centres in Slough and Welwyn Garden City, Durham-based Artech was recruited to supply products to even larger projects in Frankfurt and Paris.

The firm has developed a range of specific products for data centres, which bosses say provide significant benefits to installation teams and end users, such as the need for external trunking systems and lower energy consumption.

“Data centres are becoming such an important market for us,” said director Stuart Hylton [pictured left].

“Plans for new data centres are being announced on a weekly basis and as the world has learned to think more ‘online’ during the pandemic, that is only set to increase.

“The project specifications and requirements are incredibly detailed, and I am proud our engineers have been able to design, develop, test and manufacture our new fittings at our headquarters in Durham.

“As the UK readies itself to bounce back after the economic trauma of 2020, it is vital our companies are ready to take advantage of the opportunities that come their way – and more importantly, that our first thought is to ‘buy British’ and get our economy back on track.”

The project wins are the latest in a string of success stories for Artech, which previously delivered lighting solutions for a number of projects in the UK and overseas.
