Event attracts major manufacturers to showcase the future of the industry

Engineers and designers from some of the biggest names in global manufacturing have attended an event held by Cramlington-based metrology software specialists MSP to learn how to increase the efficiency of their manufacturing processes and maximise their returns from MSP’s products.

MSP hosted delegates from a range of major advanced manufacturing businesses, including some of the most recognisable names in the aerospace, engineering and motorsport industries, to showcase enhancements in their award-winning products and demonstrate how they continue to revolutionise traditional manufacturing processes of companies of all sizes and sectors.

The ‘Machining the Perfect Part’ event, held at the internationally-renowned high-tech Renishaw Innovation Centre in Gloucestershire, attracted attendees from across the UK, many of whom already use MSP’s NC-Checker and NC-PerfectPart products and have seen huge levels of success, including 100 per cent manufacturing accuracy, reduced part set up and manufacturing time, and increased efficiency.

Throughout the day, guests were able to view product demonstrations on the machines and attend interactive engineering sessions to find out about upcoming projects and future developments in MSP’s existing products.

MSP, an associate company of global technology giant Renishaw, also revealed more details about its  AutoClock hardware, which will fully automate machine calibration and part set-up for the first time.

David Wines from Dynamatic Technologies Ltd, who attended the seminar commented: “We have got to know MSP over the past two years and have used NC-Checker for the last six months. It is working very well and has been an easy – but effective – addition to our business.

“Events like this are very valuable – it’s useful to catch up with the team and learn more about the direction of travel, and also to refresh capabilities with a product you already know and use. It has been very interesting to learn about AutoClock and to see where MSP is going with inspection software – that is an area of particular interest for us.”

Tony Brown, commercial director of MSP (pictured), who delivered the interactive workshops at the event, said: “For both existing customers and those learning about MSP for the first time, this proved to be a highly significant event, where we could demonstrate how to make NC-Checker and NC-PerfectPart work best for them and maximise the results they are seeing for their businesses.

“With delegates in attendance who have saved hours on setup time or millions of pounds in total costs, there were many examples of best practice, and we work closely with these customers to ensure this huge positive impact on their operations continues”.
