Furniture maker HLF Group looks to expand after Blaydon office move

A furniture maker and supplier is eyeing fresh growth after opening a new head office and design centre.

HLF Group has switched to a 7500sq ft hub on Blaydon’s Whiteley Road.

Bosses say the move, described as a “six-figure investment”, will help the business reach a £3 million revenue target and extend its market presence – particularly across the social housing and build-to-rent markets – over the next 12 months.

They also say its design centre will feature 25 layouts alongside furnishings and fabric displays to boost customer choice, with a new warehouse also planned.

The firm – which opened in 2018 – is already known across the accommodation sector, with its furniture used in build-to-rent properties, serviced apartments and retirement villages.

It also supplies goods to hotels and holiday park and holiday-let operators including Parkdean, Leisure Resorts, Hoseasons and Sykes Holiday Cottages.

Rachel Conroy, founder and chief executive [pictured above, alongside managing director Tabsheer Alam], said: “We are making the necessary investments as customers look to change furniture more often while requiring better quality products at trade prices.

“We’re experiencing strong growth across all our markets but mainly in the retirement living and build-to-rent sectors, so investment in a new design centre comes at a critical part in our planned development.

“It will be a big boost to the business, providing a greater tactile experience for customers, allowing them to enjoy the full range of furniture and accessories in a creative and stylish environment.”
