Get to know GiveToLocal: register now for January webinars

Community sport’s power to transform lives will be thrown into sharp focus later this month as GiveToLocal hosts back-to-back webinars offering North East businesses an invaluable insight into its unique service.

“Our name speaks for itself,” said GiveToLocal CEO Neil Gardiner. “But the webinars are a chance to explain where that name comes from, why people should support their local communities and why GiveToLocal is the right option for corporates looking to make a positive difference in 2021.”

GiveToLocal is on a mission to back sport, boost business and build networks.

And thanks to the invaluable support of corporate and sporting partners across the UK, the Tyneside-based national service has pressed ahead with its pledge to pump an additional £10m into community sport annually.

January’s webinars are an open invitation to business leaders from across the region to find out more about one of the North East’s pandemic proof success stories.

And many of the region’s most recognisable corporate names have already registered their interest in one of this month’s most talked about online events.

Kathryn McLaughlin, Head of Communications, Newcastle Building Society, said: “Like GiveToLocal, Newcastle Building Society believes in the power of facilitating meaningful connections and keeping communities together.

“We’re excited to attend GiveToLocal’s upcoming webinar to learn more about how businesses can help to protect the future of community sports clubs through positive action.”

Gary Fawcett, Divisional Director, Brewin Dolphin, added: “I’ve heard a bit about GiveToLocal recently.

“I’m intrigued by their proposition and so I’ve signed up to the webinar session to learn more.

“Given the current climate we find ourselves in, I think it’s a fantastic idea to try and provide vitally needed support for local sports organisations by getting businesses involved with regular giving.

“At the same time GiveToLocal is creating a network for those firms involved to hopefully help each other.”

GiveToLocal’s unique fundraising model gives clubs across the North East the opportunity to raise thousands of pounds of additional income each year.

Its fee-free platform ensures every penny raised through donations from local individuals goes directly to community sport.

And last month GiveToLocal revealed it was extending its support to a further six sports as part of its bold ‘21 for 2021’ initiative.

Plans are in place to create an additional 30 jobs in the first half of the year with significant backing allowing the organisation to broaden its reach across the region.

Neil Gardiner, CEO, GiveToLocal, added: “The idea of the webinars is simple.

“We want to give the North East’s business leaders an insight into the work we do.

“There is an opportunity to explain how we’re able to have a lasting and positive impact on communities throughout the region and how that, in turn, can benefit the businesses we work alongside.

“With the support of the North East England Chamber of Commerce our corporate network is expanding quickly in this region and beyond. The webinars represent an opportunity to take that one step further.

“We’re incredibly proud of the work we’ve been able to do during a very challenging period for communities across the North East. We want to showcase that work and demonstrate the difference that it makes to clubs, coaches, players, parents and volunteers.

“The support that we’ve already received from our corporate and sporting partners has allowed us to plan for an exciting 2021 and ensure that local clubs and small businesses can bounce back from the coronavirus pandemic with confidence.

“The webinar will allow us to talk about those plans in greater detail and outline why GiveToLocal is here, what we do and how we do it.”

The ‘Get To Know GiveToLocal’ webinars will take place on January 26 and 28. For further details and to register your interest visit www.givetolocal.com/nee-webinar
