Haines Watts makes seven appointments during lockdown

Top 15 accountancy firm, Haines Watts has continued to strengthen its North East team with seven new recruits joining since lockdown began, as part of an ongoing growth strategy. 

The new team members have joined across five different disciplines, including VAT, tax incentives & reliefs, audit, business support and private client. 

Katrina Lawson joins the firm as regional head of finance and operations, bringing a wealth of experience across a variety of different sectors, to support the growth of the firm.

She said: “The team has given me such a warm welcome in my first few weeks at Haines Watts. It has been a very different experience starting in a new position during the lockdown period, but the wonders of communication through Zoom and Teams has meant it has felt as near to normal as possible. Even so, I am very much looking forward to meeting the team in person, in the coming months”.

Meanwhile, Alastair Murray joins Haines Watts with over 18 years of experience as a private client associate partner.

He said: “I’m delighted to be joining the tax team at Haines Watts. The main focus of my work in recent years has been in advising business owners and it feels great to be joining a firm that shares my enthusiasm for working with entrepreneurial clients across the North East.

“While it has been somewhat unusual starting in a role whilst working from home, Donna and the wider Haines Watts team have gone out of their way to make me feel welcome and I look forward to supporting clients during these challenging times.”
