Haines Watts welcomes cohort of 35 trainees

Accountancy and business advisory firm Haines Watts has welcomed 35 new trainees to the firm.

The graduates and school leavers join across different regions, stretching from London and the West Midlands up to the North East, with 6 of the graduates sitting being based in the Newcastle office.

To welcome the new team members, the graduates attended a regional welcome induction at the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales (ICAEW) headquarters in London earlier this month, where they met their peers from around the group and heard from trainees and partners on their career progression.

Speaking on his new role as an audit assistant trainee, Jack Hodgson said: “I jumped at the opportunity to apply for the audit assistant position after becoming aware of the shared values associated with Haines Watts, I believe the company values match up perfectly with the values I try to carry in my day to day life outside of work.

“Meeting the regional partners and listening to their advice on how to make the most of the opportunities which are available to us as employees of Haines Watts was the highlight of my training day, specifically regarding exam qualifications.”

As a firm, Haines Watts pride itself on their commitment to talent development, having created an academy dedicated to continued development of their team, as well as an accredited training programme. This commitment will continue with all of the new starters, who will be joining different training programmes, whether it be ACA, ACCA or tax pathways.

Speaking on the welcome day, regional people manager in the North, John Yeoman, added: “The day was a brilliant opportunity for our new graduates to meet with each other, it was so exciting to know that some of the connections and friendships they made will last throughout their careers.

“At Haines Watts, our values of show passion, be authentic and value relationships shine through in everything that we do. We wanted our graduates to feel this from the very start of their careers, bringing them together at the ICAEW in central London was the perfect opportunity to do this.

“It’s a really exciting time for these graduates! They will now go back to their respective areas to really start to learn and grow. They will have regular connections with leaders to support their development and growth over the next few months. Because of the investment in our 2022 graduate welcome day, they now also have a national network of colleagues to support their growth.”
