HLA Services on recruitment trail after education sector successes

An equipment maintenance firm is adding to its register after securing a number of education contracts.

HLA Services wants engineers and an electrician to support the continued rollout of university and college projects across the region.

The Boldon-headquartered operator provides mechanical, air conditioning, climate system and temperature control support.

And after picking up a raft of deals, including a six-year contract with Durham University, director Paul Smith is keen to bolster its workforce to maintain its momentum, with a commercial gas engineer and industrial electrician among its prospective intake.

He said: “Despite the economic backdrop, we start 2023 with a very healthy order book.

“And, following very strong customer demand and contract success, we are actively recruiting for a variety of positions.”

As well as Durham, HLA counts Northumbria, Sunderland and Newcastle universities as clients, and has further agreements with Newcastle and Gateshead colleges.

Employing more than 100 people, it has satellite offices in Cumbria and North Yorkshire, and recently opened a Teesside office to meet demand in the south of the region.
