Jarrow’s UTS Engineering grows with PTS Group deal

An engineer has expanded with a takeover.

Jarrow-based UTS Engineering has bought PTS Group.

Working across the water, oil and gas sectors, PTS designs and makes pipeline products for global projects, with Thames Water and Anglian Water among its customer base.

The deal builds on UTS’ acquisition of Ulrich Attachments in 2020, and Shaun Sadler, founder and managing director of the Bede Industrial Estate-headquartered operator, said it leaves the company primed for fresh growth.

He said: “PTS is highly respected in its sector for the quality and innovation of its products.

“It has an exceptional management team, an outstanding client base and it operates in a wide range of industries.”

Kevin Dobbs, PTS’ managing director, added: “We have a very good reputation in the UK and Europe.

“However, we remain very ambitious and plan to grow the business further under the UTS banner. We see great opportunities with this deal.”

Emma Pern, partner in Sintons’ corporate team, supported UTS on the move.

She said: “This acquisition shows UTS’ ambition to continue to be a significant fast-growing player in this sector.

“UTS continues to place itself in a strong position to go forward and take advantage of further opportunities.”
