Jesmond duo building for future with Musson Brown Architects after buy-out

An architectural duo have launched a new practice after completing a buy-out.

George Musson and Victoria Brown are leading Jesmond-based Musson Brown Architects after taking on Squires Barnett Architects.

The duo say the business is a boutique practice specialising in the delivery of luxury domestic projects for private clients and residential builds for developers, with George and Victoria personally involved in every commission.

Their current major refurbishment and remodelling projects include a 14,000 sq ft Georgian-inspired country house in Northumberland, an unusual new-build home in the heart of Jesmond, six new-build houses, also in Jesmond, and four new-build homes on the Northumberland coast.

“Realising our ambition as a forward-thinking architecture firm is very rewarding,” said George, who is a Newcastle University architecture graduate.

“Victoria and I have led some award-winning domestic projects and small boutique residential developments over the last few years.

George, who joined Squires Barnett in 2012, with partner Victoria joining him in 2019, added: “The time is right for the next chapter in our journey as Musson Brown Architects.”

Victoria added: “We bring creativity and a passion for the very best design and deliver it in a professional but personal manner.

“We are a client’s confidant through a project.”
