May 4, 2021
Regional property and business consultancy, youngsRPS has invested in the careers of two local young professionals in order to develop the next generation of property experts across the residential and rural sectors in Northumberland.
Based from their Alnwick office, Rory Straker joins as a Rural Assistant and Ria Welsh joins as a Residential Property Consultant.
Rory, who attended the Duchess High School followed by a degree in Wildlife Conservation with Natural Resource Management at Harper Adams University, was brought up just outside of Belford and is firmly embedded in the rural community with involvement in the Northumberland Youngs Farmers and the Alnwick Rugby Club.
Ria Welsh, who has recently worked as an international makeup artist based in Hong Kong, as well as working within her family’s holiday let business, was brought up in Morpeth and attended Westfield School in Newcastle.
Commenting on the appointments, Tom Oates, director at youngsRPS said: “None of us could have anticipated how the last 18 months have played out, however, it is fantastic to see businesses adjust and drive forward in new and innovative ways. I am thrilled that we have been able to offer Rory and Ria positions within the current climate; we see supporting the career development of local individuals as an integral part of the firm’s expansion as we strive to create an environment where the next generation of property experts can learn and grow. I have no doubt that both Rory and Ria will achieve success and I am looking forward to helping them progress.”
Operating across the North of England, Yorkshire, and Scotland, youngsRPS is a leading firm of Chartered Surveyors and Property specialists; their qualified experts are dedicated to providing clients with an exceptional service, whether that be in farm and land management, residential and commercial agency or planning and development.
Commenting further on the future of the business, Tom said: “As a business, there are exciting opportunities ahead, we are expanding both our geographical spread and the services that we offer. Our team has been integral to our success, particularly over the last year. I am proud of how they have adapted, and continue to adapt, to a new way of working and greeting the challenges of ‘the new normal’ with enthusiasm and dedication.”
