Matfen’s RH Irving Industrials looks to grow after £19.1 million Mitie Group deal

A Northumberland security and facilities services “success story” is aiming to add another chapter to its tale after being taken over in a £19.1 million deal.

RH Irving Industrials is now part of Mitie Group.

The Matfen-headquartered business provides clients with design, manufacture, installation and maintenance services across areas including electronic detection, lighting, fencing and cyber protection.

It was advised on the sale by a team from Newcastle-based RG Corporate Finance, led by partner and head of corporate finance Carl Swansbury, corporate finance director Rhiannon Nightingale and corporate finance manager Adam Tindale.

Corporate tax partner Simon Whiteside and corporate tax director Simon Hopwood provided transactional tax advice.

Legal advice came from Square One Law corporate partners Ashraf Ali and Charlie Fielding, and corporate solicitor Vanessa Saleh.

Rhiannon said: “RH Irving Industrials is a real North East success story.

“This acquisition provides a fantastic opportunity to be part of the UK’s leading facilities management and professional services company, with an extensive network that will deliver growth and fresh opportunities.”

Ashraf added: “Square One Law has had a long working relationship with RH Irving Industrials and its management team.

“It has been a privilege to support shareholders on the sale to Mitie, realising all their hard work over the years.”
