McDaniels Law ‘looking to future’ after management buyout

A legal practice says it is looking forward to “building on its excellent reputation” following a management buyout.

McDaniels Law has been taken over for an undisclosed sum.

The deal will see the Gateshead-based firm operate under the newly-created MDL Holdings Limited banner, with managing director Kelly Hudson, its management team and existing employees continuing to run operations.

Kelly, who joined McDaniels Law more than a decade ago, was advised by RSM UK, with tax partner Richard Urron, director Andy Graham and manager Owen Wheeler providing further advice from its Newcastle office.

Emma Pern, partner at Sintons LLP, delivered legal advice.

Established in Newcastle in 2005 by Niall and Rozanna Head-Rapson, McDaniels Law – which also has an office in Cumbria – specialises in intellectual property law, acting on behalf of clients across the UK and internationally.

Kelly said: “We are looking towards future progression and building on the excellent reputation the firm already has in the intellectual property sector.”

Richard added: “We are proud to have supported a local business on a deal which sees succession continuity.

“We look forward to seeing how it develops in the coming years under Kelly’s leadership.”
