More affordable homes on offer as part of housing provider’s ongoing expansion

A North East social housing provider that recently expanded its portfolio by half is urging prospective house hunters to act quickly to secure one of its latest properties.

Hellens Residential, which offers affordable homes across the region in a number of ways, including Rent to Buy, shared ownership lease and shared equity sale, is offering the two and three-bedroom homes in Brookland Park, near Acklam, as a discount sale, with 30 per cent off normal market value.

Two of the eight properties, which the organisation acquired from developer Miller Homes, have already been reserved, and demand has been high, with another two properties close to being snapped up. Buyers will own the property from day one with no further payments to make, the only stipulation being that any subsequent sale must be made with the same 30 per cent discount applied.

The development, at Furrow Grange on the outskirts of Middlesbrough, has been so popular for Hellens that it’s due to purchase a further seven two and three-bedroom homes in the same location from Story Homes later in the year, allowing even more families to get on the property ladder.
