NE6 eyes £1 million turnover after client wins

Newcastle-based digital agency NE6 is hoping to hit £1 million turnover in the next 12-18 months by focussing on new technologies and securing new clients beyond the North East.

Founded two years ago by entrepreneurs Steven Symond and Steven Gibbons, NE6 is building a reputation both within and outside the region as a digital products and applications design studio.

The company is hoping to expand its team to 20 people after securing new work in React technology – a new JavaScript library created by Facebook and increasingly used for building complex digital products.

Founder and director Steven Gibbons explained: “We have built a really strong team of skilled developers who are able to design and create a broad range of digital products. We tend to work in React technology and are lucky to have a fantastic in-house team.

“Our projects stretch from highly responsive websites and fairly simple apps to complex, data-driven platforms.”

NE6 is also working in the MedTech sector with a range of projects and clients including bio-medical company Tecrea.

More recently, NE6 has formed a strategic partnership with healthcare marketing firm Onyx Health to target and strengthen business links in the sector.

Other regional firms working with NE6 include Sanderson Young and Northern Gas and Power.

Steven Symonds added: “We’re really proud of our North East roots but see our opportunity as national.

“Technology has few boundaries and geography will not hamper the growth of NE6. While we are establishing strong credentials in BioTech and the built environment, we are not sector specific.”
