January 27, 2021
Leading property consultancy youngsRPS has appointed rural valuation and professional services expert Tom Whitehead to spearhead its expansion across the North of England.
Tom joins the business as an associate and has vast experience in a wide range of land and property consultancy services. A fully qualified rural chartered surveyor, RICS Registered Valuer and appointed agent to the Agricultural Mortgage Corporation (AMC), his main role is to drive growth across Northern England adding value to, and expanding, youngsRPS’ current client base.
Prior to joining youngsRPS, Tom held previous roles with Savills and Carter Jonas where he played an instrumental role in delivering a wide range of services including rural agency and investment, compulsory purchase and compensation and valuation services.
Tom is a highly experienced valuer regularly providing Red Book reports to assist a wide and diverse client base including banks, charities and private individuals across the full spectrum of reporting needs including taxation, accounting and as an Expert Witness. He has particular expertise dealing with high value country houses, rural estates and let property portfolios and has also worked closely with public sector organisations, including numerous local authorities, on agricultural planning matters and renewable energy issues.
Graeme Bruce, managing director of youngsRPS, said: “It’s great to have Tom on board, he’s an asset to the firm and provides specialist expertise, a great work ethic and wide-ranging experience that will help us achieve our ambitions.
“Tom possesses some very niche skills and experience which enhance our offering in areas including telecoms, energy and rural agency and valuation.
“He’ll drive forward our professional services, developing key opportunities during such an era of change for the property, land and development sector.”
Tom will primarily be based at youngsRPS’ Northallerton office, working closely with the wider team, particularly in Sedgefield but also across the firm’s Alnwick, Hexham and Newcastle offices, to develop consultancy services and provide wider expertise to existing and potential clients.
Tom Whitehead said: “I have always admired youngsRPS for the high-quality work they deliver and range of services they provide to businesses across the region.
“I have watched the consultancy grow and it’s great to now play an integral role in helping to maintain that momentum.
“I bring a lot of specialist experience and knowledge of complex issues to the business, especially around rural property and valuation matters, and have a long-standing relationship with the Agricultural Mortgage Corporation (AMC) as a specialist lender to the farming and rural business community”.
“youngsRPS is a truly regional consultancy with an exceptionally strong reputation in the property, land and development sectors and I’m pleased to join a talented and highly regarded team.”
